The meeting held on April 25, 2023, between SAMUEL and InnoSale focused on addressing the complexities of customizing industrial products and enhancing the sales process through innovative technologies. The InnoSale project highlighted the challenges of managing products that are not suitable for standard catalogues, requiring significant manual back-office support and highly skilled sales experts. The limited use of historical data due to accessibility issues was also discussed. The meeting featured demonstrations for various markets, including material handling, software, automotive, and waste management, showcasing how learning techniques, similarity analysis, and consumption patterns could improve digital marketplaces and production processes.
Alain Coulombe from 3dsemantix presented the SAMUEL project, emphasizing the capabilities of the Geometric Search engine, 3DPartFinder, and Build Time Estimation (BTE). The presentation highlighted the use of a geometric search engine to find similar or identical 3D models, aiding in part recognition and configuration. The solution concept for InnoSale included transforming customer queries into manufacturer terms using NLP, optimizing price estimations with AI techniques, and configuring products using case-based reasoning and fuzzy logic. The meeting concluded with acknowledgments to all partners and recognition of the funding received from various national organizations, demonstrating a collaborative effort to advance sales processes and product customization in industrial markets.
